Message I made a set of down pipes for my own car back in 1994 and I also made a couple sets for really good customers because they liked mine and I didn't like anything else on the market. Also the only ones available were 3" and they are so big that the pipe covers the bottom half of the flange and has to have a dowel and bolt going through the center of pipe right where the exaust exits the turbo wheel in order to be able to bolt them on.
Because I don't do that kind of work very often it took me about a day and a half to make a set and I hated doing them.
I found a fabricator I liked and talked with him about doing them for me. I helped him with setting up a jig and told him what I expected the final product to look like.
The first couple sets were a little rougher them I hoped for. I cleaned them up myself and asked him if this could be better or that could be a little different.
He has made at least 80 sets for me now and I dont need to clean them up anymore.
I have never gotten a call saying thier was any problems, in fact almost everyone has called to say they can't believe the difference.
For the past year I have always been behind a couple sets.
This was all be word of mouth I never advertized them.
The fabricator I use makes them around his regular work.
Niether he or I make much money on these ....They are VERY time consuming.
I never use to advertize them because I could not get them made fast enough.
My fabricator came down with prostate cancer and had an operation. While he is recovering he cant pick up anything heavy and can't do his regular work.
He asked me if he sat and made downpipes all day would I be able to keep buying them for about a month untill he can work on regular jobs again. I said sure! That is why I am advertizing them now.

: Just looken through the classifieds and keep seeing his add. I mean 380 bux for a couple of downpipes? What gives? Seems like we should be paying that much for downpipes plus the hard pipes(main cat elminators). Are they really that hard to make? I realize the guy has to make some cash for his efforts but damn why doesn't he sell for the 200. that the other guys are?
: Just my thoughts-if he would lower the price he would sell a lot more of them.
